Angler booking terms
The terms that apply when an angler browses, creates an account or books fishing through Dayticket.fish.
Last updated: 22 August 2026
1. Parties and contract
Dayticket.fish is operated by Bad Otter Ltd (“Dayticket.fish”, “we”, “us”). We provide the marketplace, booking, payment and ticket technology. Unless the checkout clearly says otherwise, the named fishery is the trader supplying the fishing access and related venue service, and your booking contract is with that fishery. We act as its disclosed booking and payment agent for that transaction.
These terms govern your use of our platform. The fishery’s listing, rules and cancellation policy also form part of the booking. If they conflict, mandatory law comes first, then the booking summary and disclosed fishery policy for venue-specific matters.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must provide accurate information and protect sign-in links and credentials. The lead booker must be at least 18 and is responsible for the booking, all members of the party and ensuring juniors are supervised. You may book as a guest where offered. We may associate a guest booking with a later verified account using the same email address.
3. Listings and bookings
Fisheries provide and maintain their venue descriptions, availability, prices, rules, access instructions and policies. Read them before paying. A booking is not confirmed merely because a payment page opens or funds appear pending. It is confirmed only when payment or another accepted funding method is verified and we issue confirmation. A temporary hold may expire if checkout is not completed in time.
Obvious pricing or availability errors do not require a fishery to honour an impossible booking, but you will receive a full refund of amounts taken if the booking cannot be supplied.
4. Prices, fees and payment
The final checkout total shows the ticket price and any Dayticket.fish booking or service fee before you commit to pay. Applicable payment-processing charges are included or identified as required by law; we do not add a prohibited consumer card surcharge. Payments are processed by Stripe or another identified provider. Gift vouchers, multi-tickets or rebooking tokens are subject to any additional conditions shown when issued.
5. Cancellations, changes and refunds
Fishing booked for a particular date or period is a leisure service and will generally not carry the standard 14-day distance-contract cancellation right. Your cancellation entitlement is therefore the fishery policy displayed before booking, plus any rights the law gives you. Do not assume a refund is available because you can no longer attend.
If customer cancellation requests are enabled, submitting a request does not itself cancel the booking or guarantee a refund. If the fishery cancels or cannot provide the booked session, it may offer a full-value rebooking token or a refund as described to you; this does not reduce any refund right that applies by law. Refunds return to the original payment method where practicable. Voucher or token-funded amounts may be restored to that instrument. Any fee retained on cancellation will be only where it was clearly disclosed, reflects the contract and is lawful.
6. At the fishery
You and your party must follow the fishery’s rules, licence requirements, biosecurity measures, arrival instructions and reasonable staff directions. Bring any required Environment Agency rod licence and identification. The fishery may refuse entry or end a session for unsafe, unlawful or seriously disruptive conduct, normally without refund where lawful. Fishing involves natural terrain, water and weather hazards; take reasonable care and supervise children and vulnerable members of your party.
7. Changes, closures and events outside control
Weather, flooding, fish welfare, disease control, safety incidents or official restrictions may require a water, swim or fishery to close. The fishery will decide whether an alternative, rebooking token or refund is appropriate under its policy and the law. Neither party is responsible for delay caused by events genuinely outside reasonable control, but this does not remove rights relating to a service that is not supplied.
8. Reviews and content
Content you submit must be honest, relevant, lawful and yours to share. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, display and adapt it for operating and promoting the platform. We may moderate or remove content and suspend misuse. Reviews must reflect genuine experience; incentives and commercial relationships must be disclosed.
9. Our responsibility
We are responsible for providing our platform with reasonable care and skill. The fishery is responsible for the venue service, safety management, listing accuracy and fulfilment of the booking. Nothing excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability or consumer right that cannot be excluded. We are not liable for business losses suffered by a consumer or for indirect losses not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made.
10. Problems and complaints
Contact the fishery promptly about an on-site or venue-service issue and keep relevant evidence. For payment, ticket or platform problems, contact hello@dayticket.fish with your booking reference. We may help communications but do not replace the parties’ legal rights. Nothing prevents you using an applicable court or statutory dispute route.
11. General
We may update these terms prospectively. The version accepted at booking remains the evidence for that booking. If a term is unenforceable, the rest remain effective. English law applies; consumers may also rely on mandatory protections and courts in the UK country where they live. See our privacy notice.
